Herkimer Diamond I purchased this, particularly because of a tiny black 'dot' in the center of it. The picture does not do it justice ! It is soooo beautiful and brilliant. The quartz crystals nicknamed Herkimer Diamonds are from Herkimer County, New York in the United States of America. They range in size from microscopic to over six inches long, and are characterized by very shiny surfaces, frequent high clarity, short, stubby bodies and double-terminations. A large percentage of them are under an inch in length with excellent clarity, which is the reason they are nicknamed "diamonds". Metaphysically, these crystals are associated with activation of the third eye and an increase in one’s visionary capacity. Sleeping with Herkimers is believed to enhance the dream state and to increase the frequency of lucid dreams.
